SPuutool is an easy to use uuencoder and uudecoder based on the utilities developed at the University of California, Berkeley. It sports a Graphical User Interface that reduces encoding and decoding to point and click.
The uuencoder converts a binary file (say filename.exe) into an encoded text file (filename.uue) that is then easily transmitted via email. The uudecoder reverses this process by converting .uue files back into their binary originals. At present the encoder will encode to one (sometimes large) file and the decoder must be fed a single one part file. In future releases of SPuutool I hope to add multiple part file decoding and encoding. WARNING! SPuutool does not check to see whether the file it is writing to already exists and will gladly overwrite such pre-existing files! It also doesn't check to see if you have enough space on your disk to write the output file. I hope to add such precautions in a later release. In the meantime, be careful!
The GUI has been styled to resemble the OSF/Motif interface somewhat which I personally find quite attractive. I hope to implement a full color interface sometime in the future. Using the program is fairly simple. Commands can be entered by making selections with the mouse from pull down menus or through Alt-Key combinations.

The decoder can now handle multipart files. These parts must be in
the same file in their proper order for this to work properly.
A bug in the encoder that lead to file open errors after the first
file had been encoded has been fixed.
